I love it when I get to work to plan milestone moments. It’s right up my ally. So, I was thrilled when Janine, one of my spring 2019 brides, got in touch to see if I would also help her to plan a surprise 75th birthday party for her mom. And I was thrilled to do so! This event combined my love of family and creating memorable experiences that celebrate love, friendship, and all things wonderful. In fact, it hits this jersey shore event planner at her core. We need to remind ourselves that life is meant to be celebrated! Every happy moment, every blessing, every bit of happiness needs to be acknowledged and soaked up. After all, isn’t that what sees us through the tough times?

The event was beautifully captured by Heather Palecek Portrait and Celebration Photography. Heather is so much fun to work with! My clients always rave about their events, but when they work with Heather, they also rave about her! And let me tell you about the floral centerpieces created by Jaimee and her team at the Forked River Florist.  They are beautiful. And she pulled off “fall” with out using pumpkins (not that I don’t love a cute pumpkin theme, but we wanted to avoid looking to Halloweenie–that’s a word, I promise!).

This event was also special for another reason, near and dear to my heart. I was able to bring my daughter, Caryn, to work as my jersey shore event planner assistant. Caryn will be turning 15 soon, and believe it or not, this was not her first job! She spent last summer working as a beach badge checker in Ship Bottom, NJ on Long Beach Island. So, when I decided that I could use an extra set of hands to get Kathleen’s birthday party up and running (we had a very short set-up time slot), I asked her and she was so excited to pitch in. Could it be that she becomes part of the BWE team in the future? I don’t know, but I can say that she did a great job representing the family business and I was one proud mom!
