It was a gorgeous mid-September day in Beach Haven on LBI when Tira and Joe got married at the Spray Beach Chapel followed by a beautiful rustic nautical inspired reception at the Shelter Harbor Marina in Beach Haven, NJ. This lovely couple had the perfect LBI marina wedding. Full of fun family games, beautiful views, and a wonderful couple who were so clearly in love and happy to be sharing the moment with their family and friends.
The day was documented by Tira and Joe’s friend and photographer, CJ Juardo. He captured Tira relaxing and getting ready beautifully. Tira’s mom and her adorable cat were right by her side as she dressed for her ceremony in a custom gown she purchased while visiting Joe while he was stationed in Abu Dhabi!
Joe was just as relaxed, getting ready with his sons and family. In fact, they even found time while getting ready for a few shots and a few slices of pizza!
The ceremony was held at the Spray Beach Chapel in Beach Haven. And if you’ve never been there, and you find your self in the area, it’s time for a road trip. The historical chapel is on the national hisorical society’s list of registered buildings. It’s absolutley picture perfect for a nautical rustic ceremony. And Christine from Lilly in the Valley, did an amazing job decorating the chaple with gorgeous wreaths jars of bouquets.
In fact, Christine’s floral design was one of the day’s highlights for me. Her work, as always, was simply stunning.
Tira and Joe’s ceremony was one of my favorites this year. Sweet, and thoughtful, there were readings by some of their close friends and family.
Their ceremony featured a super-cute bridal party. These kids played such a fun roll in the day! And they looked sweet and adorable. Especially the youngest ring bearers and flower girl who were pulled down the aisle in a custom boat “wagon” named the S.S. Judy after Tira’s mom.
And a fish ceremony, where they joined two fish (one pink and one blue) into a bowl together. This later became the centerpiece on their sweetheart table at their reception! Too cute!
Once the ceremony was over, Tira and Joe returned to the family home in Beach Haven for some family photos.
Their reception at the Shelter Harbor Marina was full of tons of super-sweet rutsic nautical details. Like individual seahorse place cards balanced on each water glass.
The cocktail hour’s highlight was the sangria bar. And what a view!!! Each guest was invited to label a glass and sample. And they were all delish!
Tira and Joe’s sweetheart table was adorned with the fish from their ceremony and a really cool pair of boy & girl seahorses.
Tira and Joe started their reception with a beautiful first dance.
The food, from Beach Haven Catering, was delishious and who doesn’t love a couple who is ready and prepared to get right into their lobster! They even had “his and her” lobster bibs, which they put on again at the end of the night for their cake cutting ceremony!
I am still swooning over their dessert display from Annmarie at A Sweet Memory Cake Shoppe in Forked River. I’m still working it off as well. I had to sample things, you know, quality-control and all…
The reception rocked with one of Tira’s favorite LBI bands, Hyperactive, and Tira and Joe’s family a friends clearly had a floor-shaking good time. Seriously, the floor was shaking! They had a blast!
Congratulations Tira and Joe! All my wishes for a happy, healthy, long life together surrounded by family and friends!
