This Bar Mitzvah celebration was a one-of-a-kind, for sure! Jack’s family wanted to do something special and unique to celebrate his LBI Bar Mitzvah. They chose an ocean front ceremony and an amazing hip party at the Daymark in Barnegat Light. And then, they partied, ate, hung out in a vintage VW photo booth bus, and ate ice cream!
It was a gorgeous day in Beach Haven, and Jack found himself surrounded by his closest family and friends while reciting the torah. The stage was set with a gorgeous setup from Rustic Drift, florals by Reynolds Garden Shop and custom signage, and the most amazing ceremony program ever, by Crisp by Britt. Seriously, this event was a planner’s dream team. As guests arrived, Ceremonious Strings had an electric violinist playing. Guests were able to enjoy the view while helping themselves to come water and lemonade.
The ceremony was designed with Jack’s mom’s Erin’s vision in mind. She knew what she wanted, and it was right up my ally. We chose a stunning cedar chuppah from Rustic Drift, and surrounded it with lanterns and gorgeous florals. They were lush a green, to withstand the August beach elements, but also to give the event a more masculine feel. My favorite detail had to be the floral arrangements, on Rustic Drift’s pillars, with large air plants.
But my favorite moment, was the pride evident on the faces of Jack’s parents. They have done a good job. Their son did a beautiful job. And their pride was for all to be seen. As a parent, I’ve had that feeling more than a few times, and it’s the most satisfying moment of parenting.
After the ceremony guests were invited to join the family for a celebration at The Daymark in Barnegat Light. The party was directed by the geniuses from All Around Entertainment. Fabian and his dancers were ON POINT! They kept the party on track and moving. They kept the kids entertained.
The Daymark is one of LBI’s hippest venues. It has a rustic hip vibe that made it a perfect choice for this crowd. The bright colors fit perfectly with the floral elements designed by Katie at Reynolds. When I was told Jack’s theme was lacrosse, I wasn’t 100% positive I could execute the vision. It took a team approach, and we nailed it. The alternating centerpiece designs, candles and tall uprights with lacrosse sticks, was sheer inspiration!
We finished off the LBI Bar Mitzvah with a dessert spread that made my heart ache (I was on a diet–and some how, I managed to stick to it. It was NOT easy!). A donut tower by my fav, Side Door Donuts. And a dessert spread by Melissa from the Goodness Cafe (check it out the next time you are in Beach Haven!). Plus an ice cream truck parked next to the photo booth. It was heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth!
