I had the pleasure of working with Hannah and Matt as their Brant Beach Yacht Club wedding planner for over a year. When they hired me to help them plan, they had just begun to realize how much work planning a wedding can be! Hannah was heading into her final year at Georgetown studying law and knew she was also going to spend the summer before the wedding studying for the Bar Exam! Matt was working in Washington DC and between the two of them they had managed to pick a date and a venue, that was it. As time passed, they realized that they had a lot more planning to do, and very limited time to devote to it. From the very first phone call with Hannah, I knew we were going to create a beautiful wedding together. And boy did we ever! When we got down to the likes/dislikes her direction was so simple. She said, “I like hydrangeas.” And my heart began to sing.
There’s a lot that goes into planning a wedding before you get to do all the pretty. But with Hannah and Matt, we were able to front-load the planning process and book so many of their vendors quickly. They were both so easy to work with and put so much trust in me to select a creative team for their wedding day that ended up being a wedding vendor Dream Team! The end result: An amazing wedding day filled with beautiful memories. And while it rained, (seems like that is all it’s done this season) the couple was able to still enjoy their celebration. In fact, Hannah and Matt threw me for a loop when, despite the constant rain and drizzle, they decided to forgo their rain plan and get married in the spritz. I had a moment when I realized what a beautiful sign of their family and friend’s love for them. They all were there to watch, with umbrellas in tow, as these two declared to love each other for the rest of their lives. Beautiful music from Ceremonious String’s trio. A ceremony filled with a loving and humorous delivery from Hannah’s uncle who served as officiant. The occasional squawking seagull. A very happy (slightly damp) wedding planner. Hannah and Matt’s wedding is one I will never forget. And I won’t be able to because the whole thing, the whole thing: gorgeous signage and invitation suite from Crisp by Britt, an adorable couple, loving family and friends, and details to go gaga over; was captured beautifully by Idalia Photography.
