Carlee & Brian were married in October of 2021 with a Brant Beach Yacht Club rainy wedding. They had been planning with BWE for a while, and like so many couples, saw their plans postponed because of COVID. But nothing could keep these two down. And they were rewarded with a day filled with the love surrounding them from friends and family and then, no joke… a party for the ages with my new favorite band, Good Noise!
It’s time to highlight their wedding on the BWE blog, and to celebrate their anniversary with a fun recap of their amazing day! I was also super-excited to learn that they are expecting a sweet bundle of joy this April! I can’t wait to meet their little one!
But, before we dig into the wedding photos from their beautiful day at Brant Beach Yacht Club, let’s take a second and talk about their wedding day’s weather. Carlee & Brian moved their ceremony from the planned beach front at BBYC to the back deck. With their 100 (or so) guests, they fit with room to spare and had their ceremony with the Barnegat Bay as their backdrop. They really didn’t miss a beat. The day was gorgeous. It was brimming over with emotion, family, friends, love and genuine happiness for a sweet couple that finally had their moment to celebrate with their family and friends after the sweetest ceremony officiated by the bride’s aunt. And then, they partied! They had more fun during their first dance then anyone would have imagined possible! And it was such a blessing to be there to witness it!
Carlee and Brian both grew up in Howell NJ, but on different sides of the town. They went to different elementary, middle and high school so they never crossed paths. On July 3, 2015 Carlee and Brian both went to 9th Ave Pier in Belmar with different groups of friends from Howell so they had some friends in common. That night Carlee and Brian bonded over being physical education teachers and chatted about their childhoods in Howell. Carlee’s brother Brandon was also with her that night and the three of them ended their night at Bar A and then getting late night pizza. Every great night ends in pizza, am I right?!
About a week later they went on their first date to Kleins. After four years together filled with trips to the Grand Canyon, Sanibel Florida, St Patricks Day Parades, and Breweries all over the East Coast, Carlee and Brian were happy and loving life in Belmar together. On October 12, 2019, Carlee and Brian were headed to the Asbury Oktoberfest like they have attended every year with friends. Before heading to Asbury, Brian asked Carlee to go for a walk along the Belmar Marina which they have done many times before. Along the Marina, Brian got down on one knee and asked Carlee to marry him by 9th Ave Pier where the two met. After dinner at their favorite place Ragin’ Cajun they went to the Oktoberfest to celebrate with family and friends.
Carlee & Brian began panning a wedding for 2020. And guess what?! They did get married in 2020, but they saved the larger celebration and the party for the fall of 2021 and waited to celebrate with family and friends. We began the day with a beautiful vow renewal. Brian, ever the romantic, surprised Carlee with a stunning second wedding band. The wedding was filled with beautiful details all hand picked by Carlee and carefully curated to showcase their venue and create a really sweet nautical vibe. My favorite piece, the banner displayed on the front of their sweetheart table. And, the denim jackets sported by the bridal party, which looked adorable and kept them warm on the chilly day while looking amazing in photos.
