When Mallory & Cameron first reached out to me, they were fairly certain that they had narrowed down the location for their wedding to Long Beach Island, NJ. They were living in San Antonio, Texas, but the bride had spent many summers while living in NJ at the shore for family vacations. They had spent much of their time a little further south in Ocean City, NJ, but had come across my website and my guide to LBI wedding venues during the hunt and found some venues that they thought looked interesting. Once we began chatting during their inquiry, it became clear to us both that not only were we going to have fun working together, but that LBI, Beach Haven, and more specifically, a 101 Centre Street Wedding was the perfect location for their celebration.
Mallory & Cameron met in Oklahoma during veterinary school in 2014, and got engaged just after graduation in 2018. As you can imagine they have very close friends and family from all over the country, about 15 different states! Mallory told me how she had always disliked the idea of everyone flying to one city for a single day of celebrating. She and Cameron believed, and I agreed, that it wouldn’t leave much time for socializing with long-missed family and friends. Instead, they had set their sites on a destination wedding in Cancun in April of 2020. And then, yeah… 2020.
Mallory and Cameron found themselves in the same situation as so many others and made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding in Cancun until January 2021. But in the fall of 2020, it became clear that January would not be the right time for international travel. So, again, with the safety and comfort of their family and friends in mind, they made the difficult decision to cancel their Cancun wedding and instead shift to a domestic destination. The idea: rent a big beach house and invite everyone who could make it to the celebration in New Jersey!
And make it, they did! I had SO much fun watching the family and friends of this beautiful couple celebrate. I had a moment, where I had to wonder; “Is this how my vet parties?” lol! They had so much fun. The atmosphere was magical. The ocean, the tent… Omg, don’t get me started on the tent! OK, too late. The tent, well it was a show-stopper. It seemed to me like it transformed throughout the day. The clear top allowed so much gorgeous natural light into the space. It allowed guests to enjoy the beautiful golden sky as the day wore on. And as darkness descended, the twinkle lights… they just simply did what twinkle light were born to do and produced magic.
