Last week I planned my first styled shoot. Despite being more nervous for this “fake wedding” than my own, it was a roaring success! I can not wait to share the resulting photography, but it’s under tight wraps until we succeed in getting it published. When I began my wedding planning adventure, I was approached by the amazing photographic talent, Alexandra Peterson from Idalia Photography, to collaborate on a styled shoot. We pulled off this project in less than six weeks! Many styled shoots take over six months to plan. I had to find a venue, models, recruit a dog (!!), find a florist, jewelry, hair and makeup, dresses, wedding cake, and fancy chairs. Not to mention, pull together a look and feel for the shoot itself.
So today, I’m sharing with you the look and feel for the shoot. Not the actual photography, just the inspiration board I created to give vendors a sense of the look and feel for the shoot. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the inspiration board, and ya’ know what? I kinda love it. But you know what I love even more? The real thing! I can not wait to share the photography. Everything came out amazingly!
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some behind the scenes photos we took, as well as some more projects for the DIY Series. (If you saw the DIY envelope liners tutorial for the invitation package from Beacon Lane, that was a project for the styled shoot.)
Thank you to the photographers who allow us to use their images on our site:
