Cortney and John have been married for a little over a week, and the day’s gorgeousness is still fresh in my mind! Every single detail of their wedding was executed to perfection. The bride and groom enjoyed a perfect late-afternoon ceremony on the lake font at the Indian Trail Club with the most phenomenal scenic backdrop, enhanced perfectly by a beautiful bride and groom. The location and the weather was perfection! The flowers by Laurelwood Designs were divine. The cake by A Little Cake was beautiful (and delicious)! And the bride and groom radiated their love for one another. The small touches and glances they shared throughout the day made it clear that they couldn’t have been happier. And I couldn’t have been more thrilled to have had the pleasure of working with them on their wedding day details.
I worked with Cortney and John as their Month-Of Wedding Planner and it was so much fun to help with many of the last minute details that made their wedding extra-special. My favorite part of Cortney and John’s wedding day design: the signage. We worked to create beautiful signage out of wood. Everything was hand lettered and gorgeous! Guests arrived to wooden signage lining the drive up to the Indian Trail Club. As their guests approached the venue, they were greeted with a welcome sign. I love it when details live on in purpose after the big day… this welcome sign will be the perfect piece of decor in their home, a special reminder of their wedding day.
As guests walked towards the lake-front ceremony, they were given programs, offered the most-adorable-ever bottle of bug spray, and a bag of skipping stones.
I can’t say enough how much fun it was to work with a bride who appreciates a good DIY project. Cortney created one of the night’s most sentimental details herself, by adding a small envelope with a tissue “for your happy tears” inside each ceremony program. This detail, for a bride who is known for crying happy tears at any given chance, was just simply perfection, and one of the small details that her and John’s guests will always remember. In addition the “Happy Tears” touch was practical. During the ceremony, performed by Cortney’s Uncle Tommy, there was barely a dry eye to be found. I think it’s safe to say that Uncle Tommy gave the performance of his life! His ceremony was heart-felt and touching and became one of the night’s sweetest and most memorable moments! I loved it!
After the ceremony, guests went to the cocktail hour, where the bar sign announced the beer on tap, John’s own brew!
And every element of the night was dripping in gorgeous flowers from Laurelwood Designs. Oh, the pretty almost overwhelmed me. Just look a the ceremony arbor! And the bouquets!
Once guests entered the reception, they were treated to centerpieces that were stunning. Each table had a wooden table number, each hand lettered! The escort card table, was perfection with flowers and mercury glass accents.
The cake was decorated with fresh flowers. And as the night wore on, the windows and doors of the Indian Trail Club slid open to create the perfect in-door out-door wedding feel. The weather and the amazing venue worked to create a reception that was awe-inspiring.
