The Daymark is a really cool fun wedding and event venue located on the very northern tip of Long Beach Island in Barnegat Light. The Daymark is one of my favorite wedding venues. What do I love? The cool hipster vibe and wonderful interior design. The Daymark is perfect for weddings and events. They have a great space that easily transitions from cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. There are huge picture windows that afford views of the fishing fleet from Viking Village going in and out, the Lighthouse, and a stunning sunset view, if you are lucky!
The owners, Paul and Brian Sabarese, are super-easy to work with and are pretty chill with an anything goes attitude. They are more than willing to help you to customize your event with food trucks and, my favorite, a VW photo booth bus. They just pull up the entrance of the venue, and guests are able to easily go in and out to take advantage of the cool additions. The service is also top-notch with friendly and accommodating staff on hand to help however might be needed. Daymark can host wedding receptions up to 170 seated with a dance floor or up to 250 for a cocktail reception. Their cuisine is fresh local products in a Mediterranean influence but they can customize your event menu and their sister restaurant, The Arlington (in Ship Bottom) also has a menu for events that couples can look to for inspiration and alternatives. One of Daymark’s huge bonuses, they are able to host events all year and are air conditioned. My only con for this space is the lack of handicap accessibility to the venue space on the second floor. That being said, the stairwell has a three banisters, and is wide enough that an elderly or handicap guest could be helped up the stairs with someone on each side, if needed.
Another great pro for this venue is the design. There’s not much you have to do to make the space feel special. The wooden tables and cross-back chairs are the perfect compliment to the space and give many couples that beachy rustic vibe they are looking for without having to go full-on seashell and starfish. It’s a subtle and sophisticated venue that doesn’t take itself too seriously, except when it comes to creating the perfect event and menu tailored to your needs.
I also love the Daymark’s proximity to Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. The Lighthouse is one of my all-time favorite ceremony locations. It’s got all the charm and romance of a lighthouse backdrop and the state park’s permit fee is only $60. With the recent addition to Barnegat Light, the park pavilion, you also have a great rain plan backup for ceremonies in the event of bad weather. There is a smaller pavilion inside the park, that can fit 40-50 guests, and is perfect for more intimate ceremonies. But my favorite spot is behind the lighthouse in between the forest and the jetty, where you can hear the waves, smell the salt air, and exchange your vows. If you want to check out an amazing Lighthouse ceremony I had the pleasure of working on, check it out here.

Today’s blog post full of LBI summer wedding inspiration holds a special place in my heart. BWE plans a lot of weddings on LBI and we can personally attest to the professionalism and integrity, the spirit of collaboration, and the strength of creativity among those in the LBI wedding community. This shoot was no exception. But, we pulled it together during the summer of 2020. In the midst of global upheaval, and concern, we provided an amazing safe opportunity for our creative team to design wedding inspiration like none other. I don’t believe I’ve ever been so proud. I want to personally thank everyone who worked on this photoshoot for Bay Magazine.
The absolutely stunning modern and boho mix is a perfect compliment to the Daymark in Barnegat Light. This LBI Summer Wedding inspiration was published in the summer 2021 issue of Bay Magazine. The Daymark is decked out in its fullest glory using a black and white palette and acetate design elements. We also designed a small beach ceremony at the end of Sunset Blvd in High Bar Harbor. That’s one of LBI’s cutest beaches, but can be logistically challenging if you have a crowd (there’s street parking only) and you will need a permit. But I want you to swoon over the geometric arbor from Rustic Drift! Go on, slow your scroll and get ready to droll over the sunset portraits taken just down the block in viking village at the fishing docks.
