It’s hard to believe that it’s almost mid-November, and that Annie and Tim’s stunning Brant Beach Yacht Club Fall wedding was more than six weeks ago! Annie and Tim began working with me almost a year ago, long distance. And I don’t mean a state or two, or a few hundred miles. I mean, from the other side of the world! They live in Australia! Annie, the American half of this fabulous duo, grew up spending summers with family on Long Beach Island. So, when it was time to chose a place to get married in the States, they chose “the happy place from childhood.” This past weekend, they celebrated again in Australia! Having seen this couple celebrate in person, I’m sure that Australia will never be the same!
When Annie and Tim contacted me, they had booked their venue, caterer, and photographer. But they were struggling to maintain communication from the other side of the world. They needed someone who could provide a local perspective and be the middle-woman. This planning process was so much fun! Annie and I quickly got into the habit of speaking over the phone on my Friday night, her Saturday morning to work on wedding details. She would be drinking coffee, I was getting ready to pour a glass of wine.
We had so much fun working on florals together and when Reynolds joined the team, it was a match made in heaven. Annie was obsessed with incorporating sunflowers into her wedding day design. Not a huge sunflower fan, I quickly came to love the dramatic pops of yellow. Now, looking back at their wedding photography from Ann Coen, I am officially a convert! The colors! OMG!
The week leading up to Annie & Tim’s big day was gorgeous. I met them (for the first time in person) at the Brant Beach Yacht Club the Monday before their wedding. And we sat, going over last minute details, while watching the sun set. It was gorgeous. But sadly, their wedding day sun set was not to be. None the less, it did not damper their spirits in the least. While things were a little rainy, it stopped (just like the THREE–!!!–weather apps I was using predicted) with about 10 minutes to spare before the ceremony. My team headed out to the ceremony seating, wiped down seats, and the ceremony went off without a hitch! And the stormy sky and lighting made for wedding day photography perfection!
