Amberly and David had a lovely May wedding at The Loft at Jack’s Barn, located in Sussex County, NJ. It wasn’t lovely, weather-wise. There was a little rain. Ok, let’s be real, it was a lot of rain. But that did not dampen the spirits of this sweet fun couple and their guests. The end result: a charming rustic rainy day wedding. And because Amberly & David’s wedding team had planned extensively for the possibility of a rainy day, Amberly and David were able to relax and enjoy their rainy wedding day knowing that the damp weather was not going to dampen their love or their day. Rain on your wedding day is not what many brides dream of. But seriously, when you hire the right planning team and include true professionals, like Susan Elizabeth Photography and Color Room Films, you can absolutely nail it even if it rains.
Amberly and David include some really beautiful details in their wedding design. Especially their dogs. Dogs at weddings can be a challenge. Especially if it’s an event location that the dogs are not familiar with. Because of this, Amberly and David made the decision to leave their fluffy loved ones at home on their wedding day. But they incorporated their fur-BFFs into some of the event’s sweetest details. Their wedding invitations, included a gorgeous watercolor crest with the dogs, created by Karli Strochschein Art on Etsy One of my favorite details was their signature drink sign featuring the Ella-Rita and the Max Mule (named after the pups). One of Amberly and David’s guests, Rachel Dearie, did their signage and a lot of their calligraphy. It added a really sweet touch, and wait until you see her recreation (true portrait art) of the dogs! But one of my favorite touches. And it totally gets my heart-strings, is Amberly’s decision to wrap her grandmothers Bible to the handle of her wedding bouquet. What a sweet touching way to incorporate an heirloom and a reminder throughout the day of the family, tradition, and meaning that is at the heart of a wedding day.
If you enjoyed reading about this rustic rainy day wedding, you would probably enjoy reading about the inspiration that went into it. Check it out, and get a sense of how this beautiful wedding came together.
