There are some amazing wedding venues on LBI, and many of them include both indoor and outdoor space that would work for you. But sometimes you may be looking for a backup space for your outdoor wedding, or maybe you want to get married on the beach, the bay, or in a more religious space. So, here’s a list of LBI wedding ceremony venues.

LBI Wedding Ceremony Venues

Before you get started researching and considering the pros and cons of each LBI wedding ceremony venue, you will need to ask yourself some of the following questions:

What time of year do you want to get married? An out-door beach ceremony may not be a good idea during certain seasons, or might require parking and transportation for your guests. During the summer season, parking by the beach can be a challenge. And a beach wedding in October could be too cold.

• Would you like your ceremony and reception at the same location? There are plenty of LBI venues that allow for this. Weather can play a factor in timing, so you will want to be sure that if you are having your ceremony and reception in the same location you have worked out a game plan that you are comfortable with in case the weather gods don’t cooperate. The list below includes a number of back-up options if your venue does not have a weather contingency plan.
• Do you want a ceremony directly on the beach, in the sand, or on a gazebo? Take your choice of foot wear into account here! If you’ve always dreamed of getting married in heels (or if your groom is a foot taller than you), a gazebo might be a better option compared to the sand—the sand is not high heel friendly. If you’re a barefoot/cute sandal bride… go for it!
• You might need a backup plan in case of rain for your ceremony? While some venues have indoor ceremony space available in case of bad weather, some do not. And you’ll want a back-up plan one way or the other.

Barnegat Light House State Park Weddings

• While you cannot get married inside the light house, you can get married on the beach with the ocean or the lighthouse in the background. There is also a small gazebo in the park.
• One of my favorite locations on LBI is known as The Mast. Your guests will need to hike just a tiny bit, but OMG, it’s super cool!
• This is a NJ State park, and so having your ceremony does require a special permit and 30-days notice

Wedding Ceremonies on the Beach!!!

Be sure you obtain permits from the municipality where the beach is located. Make sure you’ve checked with the township in which your wedding beach is located to make sure you have filed the proper paperwork! LBI Wedding Ceremony Venues | Indoors

Sometimes, a venue doesn’t have a ceremony space, or you need a back-up location in case of bad weather, ’cause even though you have always dreamed of a barefoot wedding on the beach, you need a back-up plan in case!

• NJ Maritime Museum | Beach Haven
• Long Beach Island Historical Society Museum | Beach Haven
  • Makes a great back-up plan for indoor space in case of bad weather
  • Can be used for Welcome parties and fun parties with a historical and educational slant
  • $400 + $100 cleaning fee and $120 security deposit

• Spray Beach Chapel | Spray Beach (near Brant Beach)
  • Non-denominational
  • (609) 492-0057
• Barnegat Light Pavilion | Barnegat Light,NJ
  • You’ll need to book this space well in advance, because it’s often used for concerts and events, and the application has to be approved by the township committee (and they only meet once a month).
  • But it’s large and pretty, but open on all sides to the elements and without great views.
